The judging will be done between 11 AM and noon on Sunday, March 28, at the dock of Beaufort Yacht and Sailing Club. The judges will be selected by the Chairman of the Race Committees. Participants have the morning to polish up and prepare their craft for the judging. Weather permitting, participants are encouraged to hoist their sails for the judging. Awards will be made that evening at the dinner at BYSC, and will have at least two categories:

1. Most Bristol: This is the boat that is maintained in the most perfect conditio, with the most flawless varnish, most impeccable presentation, cleanest inside and outside, most obviously exuding the care and attention of a fanatic for perfection. Attention will be paid to how the lines are coiled as well as to the overall intoxicating beauty of the sailing creature known as a boat. Contenders need to be at least one year sincve delivery from the maker.

2. Most authentic: Well, this is a Classic Boat Rally, and hopefully itt will attract some real classics. These need not be items of Bristol beauty. They just need to be authentic and sincere and rigged in keeping with the original design.. Actual age matters here. Lots of real wood matters. The judges will look for character and integrity which trump pure beauty. They will give positive points for boats using the hardware and rigging appropriate to the age of the boat or the era of its design. Care and attentiveness excellence of condition matter when it comes to a close call among the final contennders.
